By Rail (and then Taxi or Bus)

Yarnfield Park Training and Conference Centre is about ten miles from both Stafford and Stoke-On-Trent main line railways stations. Trains are frequent and both stations are on Inter City links between London and the North. You can check train times at the National Rail Enquiries website. (Remember that there are often engineering works on Sundays so don't just rely on the timetable! However it looks like trains are running reasonably normally in the Stafford/Stoke area on the 27th).

Taxis can always be found outside either station, and they take about thirty minutes to get to Yarnfield Park, but are very expensive. Click here for a list of local taxi numbers (Word format). On the Friday you can get a bus from either Stoke or Stafford station (Baker's Buses 350 from Stoke, Eagle 490 from Stafford) but neither runs on Sunday!
(For the Stafford bus you will have to fill in your travel details on the Traveline website that the link takes you to, as Eagle Buses do not have an on-line timetable). There are buses from Stafford at 1415, 1630 and 1735, and from Stoke at 1418, 1638 and 1738. (These are the direct buses; Traveline will also give details of bus journeys involving one or more change).

An alternative option is Stone station, which is under 3 miles from Yarnfield Park. The service here is less frequent, but hopefully there will be trains running at the right times for us. Mandy Bailey has extensively researched the options for getting to Yarnfield from Stone station. You can download her report (Word format) by clicking here. Please e-mail us on the "info@ ..." address if you are planning to travel via Stone Station, as Mandy is planning to keep local taxi firms advised of numbers.

We can get round the lack of buses on Sunday by sharing lifts. If you require a lift to the station, please use the discussion board on our Facebook page, or put your requirements on the whiteboard next to our reception desk when you arrive at Yarnfield.

If you need help with bus info, please contact us.

By Coach

Those needing a cheaper option may want to investigate travel by coach to Hanley Coach Station in Stoke-On-Trent. The arrangements for travel back to the coach station on the Sunday are the same as for train travellers, so let us know if you need assistance.

Please note that the Walton Pub referred to in earlier versions of these instructions has changed its name to the Wayfarer.

If you need assistance on the day of travel telephone Yarnfield Park on 01785 762300.
